Top 3 Wedding Floral Trends

We are full swing into the wedding season! We have been lucky enough to see some amazing real weddings being sent our way, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Today we wanted to focus on the top 3 wedding floral trends for this wedding season.

The first trend we are seeing a lot of this year is the mini bridal bouquet.
The reason for its popularity is for the simplicity as well as the price. For couples looking to keeping things simple, it’s a very popular choice.

Rich and dramatic bouquets are always every popular this season. We are seeing a lot of deep colours including burgundy with accents of rich greens and pale yellows, as well as oranges and purples. Typically this colour palate has been reserved for fall and winter weddings, but what we’ve been seeing this year is a shift of the dark and moody colour themes making their way into spring and summer weddings. It’s dramatic, romantic and a slight twist of the traditional… and brides can’t get enough of the look!

Finally, what was once reserved for a more boho bride has become very popular this season. It’s the flower crown, and we are happy that this trend is here to stay as it is one of our favourites! It’s elegant but oh so romantic, and there is no shortage of inspiration when it comes to the floral crown. From large full crowns, to daisies or an simple string of flowers, this sis something the bride (and even her bridesmaids) can have a lot of fun with!

So there are the top 3 floral wedding trends we are seeing a lot of this wedding season. What are some of your favourite trends, and have you seen anything unique this year?
Thanks for reading!

Truvelle launches floral headpiece collaboration with Oh Dina!

Lennox Band-2

For anyone still wondering, Truvelle proves they are much more than just wedding dresses with the introduction of their latest Maker Collaboration. The Vancouver bridal brand adds delicate floral headpieces and halos to their repertoire just in time for wedding season. Created alongside Halifax Milliner Nicole McInnes of Oh Dina!, the collection resulting from the collide of these two Canadian coastal brands is both simple and breathtaking.

Individually tea stained florals give off sepia tones which add to this collection’s sense of timelessness, while fresh hints of gypsophilia and rosemary appeal to modern brides and their bridal parties alike. From the notable list of botanical details to the assistance of local street signs in naming the collection, it is not difficult for brides to envision themselves in the seaside townships of Nova Scotia or the floral-ridden home studio where OhDina! is based. Like many of the Truvelle gowns, designs from this six-piece collection are tied together with a Japanese grosgrain ribbon, for a finishing detail that confirms these two indie brands could not be a more perfect pairing.

The Truvelle x Oh Dina! collaboration is available to shop exclusively in Truvelle’s Vancouver flagship, online and Etsy stores.

Engagement Session at The Jam Factory Toronto

We are so thrilled to be getting so many beautiful engagement session photos! It’s certainly that time of year and this session captured by Right Moment Photography is so perfect. Ashley and Andre are quite unique and unconventional, they wanted their engagement photos to display these defining qualities (chic, fun, romantic, sexy) while showcasing The Jam Factory Toronto beauty and rustic features. It’s absolutely perfect and I hope you love these photos as much as we did!DSC_8516 DSC_8557 DSC_8566 DSC_8579 DSC_8649 DSC_8754 DSC_8765 DSC_8776 DSC_8798 DSC_8809 DSC_8824

They are the same venue, just that the Jam Factory is on the second floor and the coffee shop is on the ground floor.

A Canada 150 Engagement Session in Ottawa

It’s Canada’s 150th Anniversary, and what is more Canadian than skating on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, ON. This is the exact place where Elise and Josh had their super sweet engagement session during this years Winterlude.
If you weren’t aware, each winter the canal in Ottawa is turned into a giant skating rink.  At 7.8 kms long, it’s the longest ice rink in the world!  There is a lot of love during Ottawa’s Winterlude like ice sculptures, ice slides and various activities.  Black Lamb Photography incorporated the canal and the Winterlude festivities into Elise and Josh’s engagement session, which turned out to be very fun.

Fun fact: This engagement session came full circle as one of their first dates was skating on the Rideau Canal. (So CUTE!!!)

A Frosty Edmonton Engagement Shoot

signature (70)

Even though Spring has officially sprung, this wintery Edmonton engagement session is super representative of the current climate – Still COLD! (Well in Montreal at least) This is a beautiful engagement session captured by Selah Reflections Photography.

The couple, Scott & Larissa, met on Halloween of 2013, on the campus of the Univerity of Alberta.  A close mutual friend introduced them and instantly Scott knew Larissa would be his wife.  In the summer of 2016 while on Vacation in Kelowna, Scott surprised Larissa with a visit and their engagement.  Larrissa had no idea that Scott was planning to propose, so she was very surprised.

It was only fitting for us to capture some image on the University Campus where they first met.  We lucked out on the day, as FROST rolled into the Edmonton area.  It made for the perfect canvas.  The couple LOVES latte’s & the outdoors, so the coffee house followed by the country location were the touches that this session needed.
