Yoho National Park, BC Engagement Session

We are so thrilled to share this breathtaking engagement session with you captured by the amazing Meghan Andrews Photography! Meghan tells us more about this beautiful shoot and how this American couple fell in love with our beautiful country!

Angel & Tim visited Canada for the first time from Texas, and they decided to have their engagement shoot here in the Rocky Mountains. I can see why they wanted to shoot here–BREATHTAKING is an understatement  for this part of the world! The couple finally decided on Yoho National Park in Field, BC.

We started at the natural bridge which was hard to pull myself  away from there, as there’s so many fascinating offsets, small beaches and paths that you can explore all day long. After we finished up at the natural bridge, we had to do a few photos at Emerald Lake Lodge.  The ice is slowly starting to melt and you can start to see more turquoise clear water again which is just majestic. We did a few shots by the dock and on the boardwalk as well,  the staff had already laid out canoes as well which are fun to play with!

Angel & Tim are a super adorable couple and I’m sure they will have a fun wedding in Texas on April 28, 2018. Congrats you two!

McMaster University Engagement Session

It’s been such a cool summer, and finally the last few weeks have felt amazing! Sun all day, higher temperatures! Simply love it! And of course the fact that we are full fledged into wedding season makes me smile! Today we have a special treat for you, it’s a beautiful engagement session captured by Samantha Ong Photography.  The couple, Lauren and Chris, met during their first week at McMaster University. Chris was living on the same floor as Lauren’s best childhood friend. They end up going to many Frosh events together. But it was only until February, their first year away from school that they officially started dating. They’ve now been together for eight years!
But it was last October, Chris surprised Lauren with a clever scavenger hunt around their condo building which ended on their rooftop which had a spectacular view of the city of Toronto and a private dinner. The next morning, they flew to Florida for the most memorable vacation!

Vintage Lilac Wedding Styled Shoot

You will LOVE this styled shoot captured by Plum Rose Photography . This styled shoot is all about the lilac as well as the boho vintage feel.

Here is more about the shoot from Stephanie at Plume Rose Photography:  I wanted to create moments with soft visual beauty and vintage elegance with a touch of Bohemian flavour to provoke the intimacy of the setting. I gathered a diverse group of stylistically powerful and creative women to breathe life into my vision and repeated those same three words: Lilac,
Boho, Vintage. Everyone quickly became infatuated and talks became ideas, ideas became plans, and plans became reality. The Nestleton Waters Inn was the perfect venue for the shoot, providing the most stunning and intimate outdoor backdrop. The natural beauty of the spring-fed pond and the lushness of the grounds’ pristine greenery provided such a perfect compliment to the vision. Aspen Florist handcrafted sensational floral arrangements in the most magnificent shades of purple and blush, impeccably paired with delicate greenery. The elegant, eclectic and one-of-a-kind vintage and Boho pieces from Southern Charm Vintage Rentals were hand selected and uniquely accessorized by Lavish Lily Design. The stunning harvest table and beautiful Chiavari chairs from Perfect Party Place provided a gorgeous foundation for our spectacular table-scape. Vogue Sposa Bridal Boutique sourced a breathtaking floral lace gown, designed and produced in Toronto, Canada by Anais Anette. From the make-up and hair, to the extraordinary
baked goods and stunning jewelry pieces, so many vendors contributed to this unforgettable styled shoot and I couldn’t be more honoured to have captured it.

Top 3 Wedding Floral Trends

We are full swing into the wedding season! We have been lucky enough to see some amazing real weddings being sent our way, and we can’t wait to share them with you! Today we wanted to focus on the top 3 wedding floral trends for this wedding season.

The first trend we are seeing a lot of this year is the mini bridal bouquet.
The reason for its popularity is for the simplicity as well as the price. For couples looking to keeping things simple, it’s a very popular choice.

Rich and dramatic bouquets are always every popular this season. We are seeing a lot of deep colours including burgundy with accents of rich greens and pale yellows, as well as oranges and purples. Typically this colour palate has been reserved for fall and winter weddings, but what we’ve been seeing this year is a shift of the dark and moody colour themes making their way into spring and summer weddings. It’s dramatic, romantic and a slight twist of the traditional… and brides can’t get enough of the look!

Finally, what was once reserved for a more boho bride has become very popular this season. It’s the flower crown, and we are happy that this trend is here to stay as it is one of our favourites! It’s elegant but oh so romantic, and there is no shortage of inspiration when it comes to the floral crown. From large full crowns, to daisies or an simple string of flowers, this sis something the bride (and even her bridesmaids) can have a lot of fun with!

So there are the top 3 floral wedding trends we are seeing a lot of this wedding season. What are some of your favourite trends, and have you seen anything unique this year?
Thanks for reading!

Truvelle launches floral headpiece collaboration with Oh Dina!

Lennox Band-2

For anyone still wondering, Truvelle proves they are much more than just wedding dresses with the introduction of their latest Maker Collaboration. The Vancouver bridal brand adds delicate floral headpieces and halos to their repertoire just in time for wedding season. Created alongside Halifax Milliner Nicole McInnes of Oh Dina!, the collection resulting from the collide of these two Canadian coastal brands is both simple and breathtaking.

Individually tea stained florals give off sepia tones which add to this collection’s sense of timelessness, while fresh hints of gypsophilia and rosemary appeal to modern brides and their bridal parties alike. From the notable list of botanical details to the assistance of local street signs in naming the collection, it is not difficult for brides to envision themselves in the seaside townships of Nova Scotia or the floral-ridden home studio where OhDina! is based. Like many of the Truvelle gowns, designs from this six-piece collection are tied together with a Japanese grosgrain ribbon, for a finishing detail that confirms these two indie brands could not be a more perfect pairing.
