We really loved this engagement session by Montreal Photographer Amélie Cousineau. Here is what the couple said about their session:
Choosing a photographer for your wedding is probably the most important decision you have to make in all of the wedding planning. That person will capture every moment of your day: the morning preparation with the bridal party, the bride being handed over to the groom by her father at the end of the aisle, and the couple’s first moments as husband and wife. These are moments you don’t get a second chance to recreate. When we were choosing our photographer, it was so important to us that we choose a very creative and talented person, but also that we felt comfortable working with. We decided to treat our engagement photos as our practice run for the wedding day, and were excited when the photographer we chose had such wonderful ideas for the location. Amélie is incredibly creative and since this was our first time doing a photoshoot together as a couple, we were happy to discover that she was also very well-prepared. She had cue cards with examples of poses to help guide us, which helped tremendously, and had told us to bring extra clothing in case our outfits weren’t quite right. She didn’t leave one stone unturned! When we arrived at the apple orchard, Amélie was all smiles and very welcoming and excited to work with us, which immediately put us at ease. She led us in between the rows of apple trees and it was so beautiful, natural and intimate that we felt comfortable right away. That’s not to say it was all easy, though! There were so many mosquitos in the orchard, it was a wonder Amélie was able to take a picture of us where we weren’t swatting one away! Regardless, she managed to get so many really beautiful shots of us and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We are now anxiously awaiting our wedding day, where we will be able to enjoy the day to the fullest, since we are now sure that those special moments will be captured by a wonderful photographer.
